Dan O’Neill is a Wildlife Presenter, Field Biologist & Filmmaker

Dan is a wildlife television presenter, field biologist, and filmmaker specializing in immersive natural history and adventure-led science storytelling, often working in remote and challenging environments.

His expertise is in large carnivore behaviour and conservation, as well as working as a field scientist on remote field-based research expeditions for almost 15 years. It is this authentic expertise and experience which has led to Dan hosting and leading on major shows as a witness-scientist.

Dan co-hosted the hugely successful BBC One show Tiger Island in summer 2026, which peaked at 2.7 million viewers for the first episode.

He has worked with major broadcasters including the BBC, National Geographic, Curiosity Stream, Love Nature and Sky. In June 2026, Dan will co-present the BBC One & PBS expedition series Tiger Island from the BBC Natural History Unit.

Dan is also a key contributor to a major global biodiversity documentary premiering this summer, featuring a Hollywood A-list narrator and an original score by a world renowned composer. 

Dan is also an Honorary Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of Bristol, and has collaborated with the likes of Grammy- winning artist Imogen Heap, connecting conservation storytelling with wider cultural audiences.
