Nokx Majozi is a renowned chef and author, known for her bold, flavour-led approach to cooking, shaped by her Durban upbringing and South African heritage.
Her food is rooted in storytelling, combining vibrant, nostalgic flavours with a modern sensibility to create dishes that feel both personal and contemporary. Nokx has built her career across leading kitchens in South Africa, the United States and the UK, bringing a depth of experience and cultural perspective to everything she does.
She is currently Chef in Residence at Roe and Fallow, and was previously Head Pie Maker at The Rosewood, where she became known for her distinctive approach to pastry and earned a reputation as a go-to pioneer for pies. Nokx led the pie room team from its inception and over 11 years worked alongside colleagues united by what she described as a “passion for culinary excellence” while also helping to mentor the next generation of chefs and championing women in hospitality.
Alongside her work in the kitchen, Nokx has a natural on-screen presence, featuring on Sunday Brunch and Saturday Kitchen with James Martin, where her warm and engaging style makes her accessible and relatable to audiences.
Her debut book, The South African Cookbook (publishing July 2026), celebrates the richness and diversity of South African cuisine, alongside recipes passed down through generations of her own family.
Nokx continues to champion South African food and culture, carving out a distinctive space within the global culinary scene.
